ALAN TABACK
For nearly 40 years, Alan Taback coached basketball and painted in the greater Trenton and Princeton areas. He led the Princeton Day School
basketball team to seven straight state championships from 1973 to 1980. It was during that period that he visited artist Anne Packard
and painted his very first painting in her studio. She adamantly encouraged him to pursue painting: Alan took her advice, retired from coaching, and turned to painting full time. Alan's paintings are a celebration of the pure passions of life. Painted with acrylics and oils, his work is alive with rhythm, movement, and harmony. Alan has
been influenced by the work of Monet, van Gogh, Kokashka, and deKooning Alan has painted in many countries and studied with artists such as Henry Herrache, Portland artist Melinda Thorsp Tark Bockrath of the Pennsylvania Academy, and the late Louisa McElwain, who encouraged him to move more technique and channel energy beyond
himself. Alan currently resides in Blawenburg, NJ.
