JANET KELLER LAUGHLIN

Janet’s love of nature and the botanical world has been a lifelong source of inspiration. Nature becomes the subject, or material to create art. Panoramic views and close up garden studies, turn into painted landscapes. Gathered leaves, seeds, pods and branches become sculptural botanical arts couture or modern floral designs. Plant based dyed wool is used for her tapestries and rugs. Found objects are transformed into sculptures and installations. Usually, fresh or dried plant forms find a place on them as well.

Her background is in the Classical Fine Arts, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fines Arts, Certificate & Graduate studies, and Moore College of Art & Design,BFA: Contemporary, Illustration & Graphic Design.

Janet has been a visiting artist and instructor at schools, art & environmental centers and various garden clubs. She exhibits in regional and national shows, including

The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and The Philadelphia Flower Show, receiving many awards along the way. Her work is in private and public collections throughout the US.
