Colleen Miller grew up in South Jersey and graduated from Rutgers in 1984 with a B.A. in communications and also studied media management at the University of Missouri Graduate School of Journalism. She spent more than three decades working in journalism, public relations, and lastly in web and social media strategy.

She has spent the last decade studying and practicing art. She is trained in a variety of mediums from bookmaking, printmaking, to painting and collage.
