GREGG YUPANKI BAUTISTA
Gregg is a musician, artist, and writer born and raised in the US to Peruvian immigrants. He received a BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts with a concentration in Painting. Post-BFA, he began developing a project over a few years that experimented with combining visual art, writing, and music while continuing to examine the phenomena of migration and the resulting cultural integration vs. assimilation, the underlying themes explored in his paintings.
Heavily influenced by his indigenous heritage, his conceptual music project Yupanki coalesced into an EP from these experiments in 2022, with time migrants, memory, nature, and old gods emerging as the themes. In 2024, Gregg brought more of Yupanki's world into focus with an illustrated collection of poems and short stories, titled "Un Lugar Lejos: Valleys" to accompany the music.
He regularly performs in the NJ, NY, PA region and is currently working on the next installment of Yupanki.
